Stanwood Royalty?

Did you know Stanwood was visited by Royalty?

In Stanwood on May 27, 1939 it was the occasion of an extra special ceremony, the dedication of the Toftezen Memorial erected in honor of Washington’s first Norwegian settlers.

“The town was in full dress on that historic day, when Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway arrived shortly after 11 o’clock in answer to a dedication request from the Sons of Norway and the Stillaguamish Historical Society.”
